Chamber member Dan Damon of Dan Damon Entertainment has expanded and diversified, to include not only singles and duos (live keyboard and vocals) for small and medium parties, but now complete stage shows, grand openings, special events, fundraisers etc. Dan says his performing market has tripled in the last five years and he attributes his success to diversification of his various music groups and performing different kinds of music for the changing demographics. Dan, who was born in Syracuse, New York, comes from a musical family. His father, a saxophone player and lover of music recognized his son's musical interest and talent which led to the purchase of a table model Magnus Organ. In no time, Dan played the instrument well and began to sing and play his own words and music. At age seven, he wrote his first musical lyrics, which he said he never did give a title, but remembers it vividly. The now accomplished keyboard artist realized his ambitions in music early in life. He also realized the need for lessons and study. While a student at the University School of Performing Arts in New York, the aspiring youngster studied keyboard under two great musicians, Colby Gowin and Ky Ferrin and Voice under the direction of Sony Farrar. In his early 20's he spent six years traveling across the country - visiting Kentucky, Tennessee, the Midwest, Arizona and finally ending up in California - following his California dreamin' desire to be an entertainer. He eventually landed in Orange County after stopping here and there working on musical gigs. As he traveled, thoughts trickled his mind and he wondered if he would ever meet a woman with whom he could share his life. At the Derby Restaurant in Costa Mesa where he secured employment, Dan met his wife PAt. They have been married 28 years and Dan brags that she is his best fan to date. He also inherited 4 adult children and several grandchildren through his marriage to PAt. Of his adult children he says "Hey I needed them and they needed me." When he is not performing, he enjoys landscaping and golfing. He and Pat have also taken cruises to Alaska and Hawaii.
Dan Damon Entertainment has gone from performing a single (keyboard vocal) in 1984 at Soboba Country CLub to music from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's throughout Southern California. Dan and his groups are doing many performances and traveling these days, but he doesn't forget his Hemet/ San Jacinto Valley roots. Some of his weekly performances include Sunday from 10am to 2 pm at the Menifee Lakes Country Club for brunch; Sunday nights from 6pm to 9pm at Duke's Steakhouse - 360 N. San Jacinto Street. - for listening and dancing, and Thursday from 2pn to 4 pm at Soboba Casino in the A/C Lounge for listening and dancing pleasure. Dan commented, "I am thankful for being able to do what I love, inspiring people's emotions through music." He has contributed thousands of dollars to charity events and find raisers through the years with his performances in the San Jacinto Valley and throughout Southern California. He writes, directs and produces his own shows. he will perform for birthdays, anniversaries, dances, programs, small parties, etc. He will also do complete stage shows as well - for larger events, conventions, concerts an the park and fundraisers. He has found that a common denominator among people is music - it's a universal language. It has given him the confidence to pursue his dreams and goals. © COPYRIGHT 2008 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED dandamonmusicproductions.com |
